About the title: After posting this image I realized some of our viewers may think I, Bill, am referring to my processing of the image as the "Masterpiece". While I like to think it is very nice that is not the case. In our opinions Mother Nature has created many incredibly beautiful birds. However, a few truly stand out from the crowd. Again, in our opinions, the Roseate Spoonbill is one of those, which is the "Masterpiece" I am referring to in the title. In other words Mother Nature's ability to produce a "Masterpiece" not mine. Now to the story behind this image.
On July 03, 2018 Deb & I visited the Saint Marks National Wildlife Refuge, which is located south of Tallahassee, Florida along the Gulf Of Mexico, to photograph animals, birds, landscapes and other things of interest. While we were slowly driving on Lighthouse Road we noticed this beautiful Roseate Spoonbill preening itself while standing on the water's edge of a pond on the east side of the road. Of course, we parked a short distance from there and walked back hoping not to disturb this beautiful bird.
Deb captured this image using her Canon 7D Mark II camera aided with a Canon 100-400 "L" Lens along with a 1.4 extender to further the reach.
All visits to our FAA-Pixels art sites are welcomed, encouraged and appreciated. Please visit often.
