I, Bill, captured this Osprey as it perched on a dead tree limb while visiting on Jekyll Island, Georgia on December 5, 2018 using a Nikon D850 along with a Sigma 500mm lens.
I found the original image to be not so "pleasing to my eyes" as far as the background was concerned although I was very happy with the image of the Osprey along with the tree limbs upon which it perched. Therefore, I artistically altered the background using Photoshop CC with a foggy marshy looking painted area.
The Osprey was actually staring down into a narrow canal below the dead tree hoping to find a meal, I suppose, hence the title. The bushes were high in front of me where I stood plus the Osprey was perched high on the tree limb so I was unable to capture any part of the canal when I made this shot in the original image.
