Recently our "kids" or cats, Popcorn and Cookie, were playing with each other in our south Georgia home's sunroom when all of a sudden the play got a little on the rough side. Popcorn is a "tom" or male cat or feline as some call them while Cookie is a female. Cookie is the most playful of the two but they normally play very well together. However, this time we suspect Popcorn was tired of the playing and ready to settle down for a nap so he (he is the top or white cat) appeared to get angry with Cookie.
I, Bill, rescued Popcorn when he was a tiny kitten from a local Walmart parking lot street exit where some someone less than human in my opinion put him out for whatever happened. I stopped my truck, blocking traffic and walked around the front to pick him up as he simply lay there waiting for his end I suppose. He was very sick and had fleas all over. I picked him up, looked him in the eyes holding him only a few inches from mine and asked him "would you like to go home with me?" He meowed as best as he could so I placed him in the floorboard on the passenger side of the truck and we came home. Deb could not believe I brought him home but understood after seeing him. We had previously agreed we would not take in anymore strays. After all we already had 2 cats and a chihuahua, all rescued. Of course, she fell in love with him right away as we gave him a flea bath using the original dawn liquid dish soap, which in case you don't know will kill fleas and ticks. That was on an early Saturday morning so I took him to our Vet first thing Monday morning for a checkup and treatment for his ailments. He has since grown to be a large and healthy cat and follows me around inside our home almost as if he is a dog. I cannot help but think he remembers that first contact I made with him that morning at Walmart.
Deb was sitting away from them a few yards while photographing the two with her Canon 7D Mark II camera with her Canon 100-400mm "L" lens attached.
Today the urge hit me to step away from the normal photograph posting and refresh my mind with my artistic digital art software programs. In other words I felt the need to get creative this morning since I haven't done so in quite some time. Therefore, I processed the original image through Photoshop followed by 2 or 3 additional artistic software programs in my computer. Finally I finished the piece with a Photoshop "oil" brush.
We hope you like this work.
