We photographed this Saint Marks National Wildlife Refuge lighthouse scene on 9 Nov., 2023 while visiting the refuge. The Refuge is located south of Tallahassee, Florida at the mouth of the Saint Marks River and Apalachee Bay, which feeds into the Gulf Of Mexico.
We only performed basic editing to this image. No photo-painting or other changes to the original image. And, yes the birds were actually flying in the scene; we did not implant them into the image. In fact, we did not even notice the birds when we photographed the image. Finding them once we opened the image on our large PC editing screen was a pleasant surprise. Once in a while we get lucky.
