This long exposure sunrise image of a small fraction of the marshes in Glynn County, Georgia USA was captured by us in early December, 2021. The location was the Marshes of Glynn Park located within the Brunswick, Georgia city limits on Highway 17.
Deb (Deborah) recently realized her lifelong dream of living in the Golden Isles area of
southeastern coastal Georgia as she finally retired from a medical profession. We recently sold our house and relocated from a south central city of Georgia to coastal Brunswick, Georgia. Therefore, we hope to be posting many more coastal images from this beautiful part of Georgia, USA also known as the Golden Isles of Georgia.
UPDATE: This image concerned us with the deep purple colors as you simply do not see many purple sunrises. We thought maybe I, Bill (editor of our art), may have gotten things screwed up during the editing process causing the deep purple colors. So, this morning we did some research. Surprisingly, purple sunrise/sunsets sometime do occur. Following is an explanation we found that was explained by an UK English meteorologist. She said the colours are caused by "rapidly rising air over the sea, which can lead to more salt molecules in the atmosphere", leading to the light being scattered more prolifically and creating "more vibrant pink and purple colours during sunrise and sunset". Again, this was explained by an English meteorologist, which you probably guessed since "color" was spelled colours", which is the English way of spelling the word. Now back to the purple. I, Bill, kept looking at how deep the purple is in the image and almost deleted it off the site since I thought I had screwed it up. But, after doing the research this morning I found many sunrise images with even deeper purple colors in them. So now, I can relax about this issue.
