Deb and I traveled throughout much of the southwestern part of Georgia in late September 2015 on a Saturday to photograph anything of interest. One of the small towns we spent some time in was Colquitt, Georgia, which happens to be about 20 miles or so south of my home-town of birth, which is Blakely, Georgia. As we were approaching the downtown area we saw next to the Chamber of Commerce building, if I remember correctly, this unique Native American totem, which had been carved from a damaged oak tree years earlier. Following is a little information I was able to find.
Colquitt is the site of a 23-foot Red Oak tree that sculptor Peter Toth carved into the head of an Indian brave. Also in memory of Native American Indian culture is the Native American and Early Pioneer Museum that houses more than 100,000 artifacts.
Deb took this photograph and I completed the digital oil painting on it today, March 06, 2017. We hope you find it pleasing to your eyes.
All visits to our FAA-Pixels art sites are welcomed, encouraged and appreciated. Please visit often and, if you will, tell your friends and family about our art sites. They may find something they like and thank you for the tip.
