While Deb & I were visiting Jekyll Island on August 31, 2018 we came upon a gentleman walking a gorgeous and very robust and friendly Pitbull dog on a paved lane set back from Driftwood Beach intended for walkers & bicyclers.
I asked the owner if we could photograph his dog and asked its name. He said yes and said its name was Pity. He went on to explain the reason for the name. Pity was a rescued dog. He said when he found Pity he was in very sorry state. He looked pitiful due to bad health and loss weight since he was living the life of a stray. So he named him Pity.
I told the owner he had certainly done an admirable job of restoring Pity's health and that he had the looks of a very fit and happy bulldog. Maybe I should have suggested he change Pity's name to Happy but I decided not to push my luck.
If you have seen the previous image we posted (Cookie - A Blue Heeler) and read the description you know we also photographed Cookie on the same day while on Jekyll Island. It seem this was our day for dogs.
Deb captured the original image using her Canon 7D Mark II camera along with a Canon 100-400MM "L" lens. Very early this morning I started artistically working with this image. As always I start with Photoshop CC and go from there. The original image had a not-so-desirable background plus the owners legs were in the image, which had to go. I used several of my artistic software programs to finally acquire the results you see with the final one being an oil paint brush to give it the painted look, which I found very "pleasing to my eyes". Of course, the time consuming part was implementing this scene for Pity to make his debut on our art sites.
Deb & I will be honored if a few of you dog lovers should acquire a copy of Pity for a place on your home's wall.
All visits to our FAA-Pixels art sites are welcomed, encouraged and appreciated. Please visit often.
