WE captured this beautiful osprey drying its feathers all-the-while holding onto its catch in 2018 while visiting the St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge located south of Tallahassee, Florida along the Gulf Of Mexico.
The osprey had only been perched a few seconds when we were lucky enough to get close enough to photograph it. The osprey had just moments before made a dive into a canal by the tree it was perched upon to catch the fish. Many of you may be aware of this but just in case you are not, osprey actually dives talons/feet first into water at high speed to grab its unsuspecting prey completely submerging itself, which, of course, account for the water-soaked feathers.
