WE photographed this lone great egret perched on a dead tree branch in January, 2019 while visiting the Saint Marks National Wildlife Refuge very early one morning. The dawn was filled with haze/fog that morning so there was no colorful sunrise to capture. However, we decided to take advantage of the current situation. While looking for things of interest to photograph we noticed this lone great egret perched, seemingly, at peace with its world.
WE captured this image using a Nikon D850 along with a Sigma 500mm F4 lens plus a 1.4 extender to further the reaching power of the camera/lens.
Recently, we have watched several youtube videos of photographers capturing minimalist images with only one or two objects in the image, which we find to be very "pleasing to our eyes". "Live & learn" as the saying goes.
