This work started as a photograph taken by us (we used a Nikon D850 along with a Sigma 500mm lens) on January 16, 2019 while visiting a wildlife sanctuary located in the USA. We visited this same sanctuary about 2 to 3 years ago and was given permission to photograph the animals but was asked not to use the sanctuary's name when we posted the images taken there on our websites, which is the reason I cannot name the it.

We were extremely lucky to have been in the right place at the right time to witness a rather heated confrontation between the one male and 2 female lions. We suppose the females decided they had had enough of being push around by the big male so they both attacked his rear section causing him to roar like he was in great pain and judging from the look of the one female's claws dug into the male's side we bet he was indeed hit with a serious bolt of pain. However, it only lasted a couple of minutes, if that long, as the big male quickly snapped around and put an end to it.

This morning we worked with several of our computer artistic programs to produce a work of art that is "pleasing to our eyes" and, hopefully, to yours too.
