WE photographed this beautiful sunrise on August 01, 2019. The lighthouse is located at the end of Lighthouse Road, which is on the Saint Marks National Wildlife Refuge and is adjacent to the Apalachee Bay, which flows into the Gulf of Mexico. The refuge is located south of Tallahassee, Florida.
In order to capture this image from this angle we had to wade out using only a flashlight into middle chest high tide salt water and all-the-while holding our tripod/camera out of the water. Of course, we had shoulder high waders on but it was still a bit of a tense situation since the night sky was still very dark.
The capture was accomplished with a nikon D850 camera along with a Tamron 24-70mm F2.8 G2 lens. We used a 30 second long exposure. Of course, by the time we captured this image the blue hour had started, meaning the first light of the sunrise had appeared over the horizon. but the actual sun had not yet risen.
Thank you for visiting our art.
