On February 18, 2019 we returned to the bird rookery on the Alligator Farm, which is located in St. Augustine, Florida to photograph nesting birds of many breeds.
WE photographed these two great egrets as one had just taken flight after breaking off a limb for its nest building while the other great egret flew in to perch and most likely to also gather a limb.
The great egret (Ardea alba), also known as the common egret, large egret, or (in the Old World) great white egret or great white heron is a large, widely distributed egret, with four subspecies found in Asia, Africa, the Americas, and southern Europe. Distributed across most of the tropical and warmer temperate regions of the world, it builds tree nests in colonies close to water.
The sky in the original image was a bit on the boring side so we checked our computer's "sky" files to find a more interesting image. This sky image was captured in Georgia in May 2018 by us using a Nikon D850 camera.
WE edited both images and blended the olded more interesting sky image into the new bird image using Photoshop CC 2018. We should also add the Great Egrets image captured on February 18, 2018 was captured using a Nikon D850 along with a Nikon 300mm PF F4 lens boosted with a 1.4 Nikon extender.
We feel the magnificent of the egrets in flight along with the colorful clouds in the sky justifies the title. Maybe you will agree.
All visits to our FAA-Pixels art sites are welcomed, encouraged and very much appreciated. Please visit often.

Wow, what a cool image, Bill and Deb - wide angle lens?
DB Hayes replied:
Hi Jurgen: Thank you for your visit and compliment. Please allow us to direct you to the Description to answer your question although I will add the sky image was captured using a Sigma 24-35mm F2 Art wide angle lens, which was not covered in the Description. Of course, the Sigma lens was mounted to our Nikon D850 camera at the time. Thanks again. Bill & Deb
