Hello: On December 16, 2016, once again, Deb & I spent some time kayaking the gorgeous Wacissa River, which is fed by crystal clear underground spring water and is located east, southeast of Tallahassee, Florida about 25 miles or so. While doing so we came upon this gorgeous Snowy Egret (scientific name is Ergretta Thula) as it was hunting in the clear water in a somewhat shallow area along the east river bank for it food. I suppose as it moved about rather quickly it raised it wings above its body as shown in this image to keep them out of the water as much as possible. Regardless of whether that is correct or not it made for a great photograph in our opinions. Maybe you'll agree. This is actually one of my, Bill, images as Deb was in a position in the kayak that prevented her from turning to take photographs of this egret. Sorry Deb.
